Little America consists of eight half-hour stories, which aired originally on Apple TV. After a first season that was praised by both critics and viewers, it was renewed for 8 more in a second season. “Inspired by a true story” of immigrants living in America, as the title sequence always reminds us (the exact phrase appears below the English text, translated into the subject’s native language), we find ourselves in the shoes of a different person each episode.
The only commonality is that our protagonist has come to the US from somewhere else. Here’s the way one critic put it: “Keep an eye out for the second season of this terrific anthology series about the vast possibilities of the immigrant experience in the United States, whether as newcomers to a sometimes incomprehensible land or as the offspring of pioneers trying to accommodate family and culture.”
Here at ESU, we will be meeting these real-life immigrants and relating their stories to our own!
